We are looking for a Health and Safety Apprentice to join our Health, Safety & Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone at the start of their career or looking to retrain in a new profession who is interested in health and safety and wants to gain a recognised qualification, hands-on experience, and long-term career prospects within the health and safety profession.
You will be supported throughout your apprenticeship, working alongside experienced health and safety professionals while completing the Level 3 Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Technician Apprenticeship.
As our Health and Safety Apprentice, you will:
- Support health and safety activities across CGA offices, homes and communal areas
- Assist with inspections, audits and risk assessments
- Help maintain health and safety records and compliance documentation
- Support accident, incident and near-miss investigations
- Assist in delivering Toolbox Talks, inductions and safety briefings
- Work with colleagues, contractors and tenants to promote safe working practices
- Learn how health and safety legislation applies within a housing association
- Play a role in promoting a positive, tenant-focused safety culture
What we are looking for:
- A genuine interest in health and safety
- GCSE Maths and English at Grade 4 / C above (or equivalent)
- Commitment to completing learning assessments and coursework alongside your role
- Good communication, organisational and IT skills
It would be great if you also had:
- Interest in housing, construction, facilities or the built environment
- A driving licence and use of a car for work
This role suits someone who is prepared to think, ask questions and take responsibility for their own learning, not someone looking for a tick-box apprenticeship. You will need to show curiosity, initiative and a willingness to speak up - health and safety is about people!
