Based at our dockside offices in Preston, Lancashire

What will you be doing in this role?

As a Community Safety Officer, you'll be providing support, advice and assistance to residents by investigating and challenging acts of ASB. You'll be signposting tenants to other agencies for expert help and you'll create and maintain working relationships with local authorities such as the Police and Lancashire Fire and Rescue. You'll also be a ‘Safeguarding Champion' for the organisation, ensuring our tenants are living in safe homes free from neglect and abuse.

What we are looking for:

  • Using your amazing communication skills and customer service skills, you'll comfortably deal with challenging behaviour and individuals who are in crisis.
  • You'll have a natural flair for problem solving and supporting colleagues in your team.
  • However, you'll also be self-motivated and manage your own caseload.
  • You'll have great working knowledge of Tenancy Management/Community Safety and you'll fully understand the importance of confidentiality.

It would be great if you also had:

  • Worked in a similar role within social housing.
  • Basic knowledge of relevant legal tools & powers.
  • Basic knowledge of safeguarding and making referrals to external agencies.
