Assistant Project Worker – Homeless Prevention
£24,309.07 p.a. (37 hours, £12.60 ph)

What will you be doing in this role?
The Spires provides high-quality support services and accommodation to residents who have been homeless or at risk of homelessness. You\’ll support the tenants using a person-centred, strengths-based approach that promotes independence, responsibility and personal wellbeing. You\’ll provide ad hoc support, monitor visitors to the service, respond to enquiries and organise and deliver activities designed to promote inclusion and develop skills. We are a values-based company and expect all our colleagues to demonstrate our values and behaviours through their work. These roles will require regular evening and weekend work on a rota basis.
What we are looking for:
- You\’ll have previous experience of working or volunteering with adults who have experienced homelessness.
- You\’ll have a good understanding of the issues faced by people who are experiencing multiple disadvantage and be able to support them without judgement.
- You\’ll need to have good communication skills – both verbal and written – to work with residents, colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.
It would be a bonus if you also had:
- Experience of organising events and activities to develop skills and promote inclusion.
- A relevant qualification in housing or health and social care.
- Understanding or experience of working with partner agencies such as drug and alcohol services, social services or services for people experiencing mental ill health.
Working arrangements:
This role is based at The Spires a 26-bed, move-on scheme which provides temporary accommodation for individuals who have experienced rough sleeping or are at risk of rough sleeping. The scheme provides high-quality support services and accommodation to residents who face multiple disadvantage.
