About the role

All patients referred across the country are processed and booked via our Referral & Bookings Management Centre. As an NHS commissioned service, our goal is to ensure that our referral and bookings team is the most responsive to patient needs, the safest, and the best nationwide.

Due to our continued growth, we are looking for Patient Booking Coordinators to join our team. Our team thrives in our busy Contact Centre, where everyone takes on a high level of personal responsibility for achieving outstanding service while building strong relationships both internally and externally.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Being the first point of contact for patients, general practitioners, and optometrists throughout the referral process.
  2. Liaising regularly with primary, community, and secondary care providers via telephone and online e-referral, NHS, and in-house IT systems.
  3. Processing referrals.
  4. Booking patient appointments using our booking system.
  5. Performing ad hoc administrative duties as necessary.
  6. Working effectively and efficiently to CHEC standards.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  1. Ability to work as part of a team.
  2. IT literacy.
  3. Ability to work under pressure and meet service levels.
  4. Empathy and patience when dealing with referrals.
  5. Strong communication skills and confidence when speaking on the phone.
