An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join our community team. Our community clinics are based locally in GP surgeries or mobile units, allowing us to provide accessible care for patients in their own communities.
Responsibilities
- Independently run pre‑ and post‑operative diagnostic clinics.
- Perform diagnostic tests, including 2D and 3D scans of the posterior segment of the eye, intraocular pressure measurements, peripheral vision checks, and visual acuity testing on reading charts.
- Prepare clinic areas and documentation prior to appointments.
- Conduct pre‑examination diagnostics such as OCT scans, visual acuity measurements, blood pressure monitoring, temperature testing, and blood glucose monitoring.
- Support hospital diagnostic clinics as required.
- Assist patients throughout their journey with CHEC, reporting any concerns.
- Maintain patient records and ensure proper documentation within the clinical system.
