The North East & Yorkshire Net Zero Hub is part of a national network of Local Net Zero Hubs that helps local areas develop and deliver energy projects. The Hub seeks a Programme Officer to support the coordinated management and administration of its complex programme. The role ensures the Hub’s governance and reporting are of the highest standard, providing full accountability to stakeholders including partners and funders.

The Programme Officer will focus on robust management of finance and risk across the programme, liaising with internal teams to keep budget forecasts current, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing decision-makers with the information they need.

Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating programme governance and reporting.
  • Managing finance and risk, including budgeting and forecasting.
  • Preparing accurate financial reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline delivery and add value.

Requirements:

  • Highly organised, independently motivated, and able to prioritise workload.
  • Strong problem-solver, with the ability to identify value‑adding opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience in finance, risk management, or programme administration preferred.

The role is offered as a fixed term until 31 March 2027, subject to performance and funding, and can be extended. It is also available as a secondment opportunity.
