Main duties of the job

You will provide specialist dental advice and treatment for people with disabilities and/or complex medical conditions, in community clinics, domiciliary settings and under General Anaesthesia in Hospital settings. There will be a specific focus on the delivery of special care for patients referred for anxiety management who may require care under sedation or using other behaviour management techniques. You will also be responsible for the triaging of GDS referrals as part of a Specialist led process. This senior clinician will support, advise, teach and train a variety of professional employees including community dentists.

The post holder must be registered and maintain registration as a Specialist in Special Care Dentistry with the General Dental Council and must have an active NHS Primary Dental Care Performer Number. A CCST in Special Care Dentistry would be an advantage.

Community Dental Services encourages postgraduate education and development. As you will be expected to provide support to all clinics across Derbyshire, the ability to visit all bases in the county is essential.
