Great Bay Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; strong academic background is required.
Semester: Fall 2026 Semester Adjunct Faculty: Physics
The instructor will be responsible for helping to prepare and to teach a 16-week live fall course: University Physics I. The instructor must be available during the scheduled in-person course time, and ideally should be experienced in Canvas LMS.
University Physics 1: 31-Aug-26 to 19-Dec-26 Mondays and Wednesdays 9:00 AM - 11:50 AM
Course: PHYS290G – University Physics I
This course is an introduction to the basic principles of physics including motion in one and two dimensions, force, statics, translational and rotational equilibrium, work, energy, power, and mechanical properties of matter. Dimensional (unit) analysis and critical thinking are stressed.
Adjunct appointments are temporary, for a specified contract period and may require in-classroom or online instruction. The compensation rate is $850-$1000 per contact hour [or $47.95 - $59.45 per clinical rate per hour if applicable]. Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
The minimum qualifications for the position are as follows:
- Education: Master’s degree in physics or related area.
- Experience: Experience teaching or working in the field of science.
