Wokingham is seeking a committed and experienced Social Worker to join its Children Looked After (LAC) service. This role is focused on promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children in care and those leaving care, ensuring they receive high-quality support and positive outcomes.
About the Role:
You will work as part of a dedicated service alongside Social Workers, Leaving Care Personal Advisors, and partner professionals to deliver an effective and child-focused service.
Responsibilities include:
- Promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children who live in, access services in, or are in the care of Wokingham.
- Providing care, support, and guidance to children in care and care leavers.
- Working with children placed in foster care, kinship care, residential placements, and semi-independent accommodation.
- Managing a caseload of children, working directly with them, their carers, and families.
- Contributing to care planning, reviews, and pathway planning.
