About the Role
Milton Keynes Council is seeking a proactive and experienced Team Manager to lead a team within Adult Social Care. This role is ideal for a strong leader with in-depth knowledge of adult social work practice, legislation, and performance management. You will oversee a team supporting adults with complex needs, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, person-centred services that promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visible, day-to-day leadership and operational management
- Offer clear direction, supervision, and line management to the Deputy Team Manager and frontline staff
- Ensure the teams provide high-quality, person-centred assessments, reviews, and care planning in line with the Care Act 2014
- Quality check and approve assessments, care plans, and contact forms to ensure compliance with statutory duties and internal policies
- Oversee and monitor team performance, workload allocation, and workflow systems
- Support and guide unqualified staff, offering professional expertise and development opportunities
- Ensure effective management and monitoring of service budgets, supporting cost-effective care provision
- Develop strong working relationships with internal teams and external partners (e.g., health services, care providers)
- Contribute to service development, workforce planning, and continuous improvement initiatives
