You will play a key role in delivering high quality pre-birth intervention work, using the Signs of Safety approach to support families and safeguard children. You will work with parents from the point of referral right through the pre-birth and post-natal period.

You will lead on complex cases, ensuring best practice and positive outcomes for families in North Tyneside. For this, you will have a minimum of 4 years’ experience in statutory social work, and experience of working with children and families via Child in Need Plans, Child Protection Plans and with Children in Our Care. Pre-Birth work includes supporting children until final plans are agreed, which can include plans of permanency outside the family via long-term fostering and adoption.
