Locum Adults Service Manager

We are seeking an experienced Adults Service Manager to provide locum cover within adult social care services in the South West of England.

The successful candidate will provide management oversight across two key areas:

• DoLS (Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) Team – ensuring effective management, oversight and progression of DoLS work in line with statutory requirements.

• Safeguarding Hub – a triage-focused service, responsible for receiving, screening and appropriately directing adult safeguarding concerns and referrals.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong operational and professional leadership across the DoLS and Safeguarding Hub functions.

• Oversee the effective triage, prioritisation and allocation of safeguarding concerns.

• Ensure DoLS activity is managed effectively, with appropriate oversight of statutory timescales and processes.

• Support staff to maintain high standards of practice, decision-making and risk management.

• Provide management oversight of complex or high-risk cases and escalation appropriately.

• Work collaboratively with social care teams, health partners and other agencies.

• Monitor performance, quality and compliance and provide clear management reporting.

• Support continuous improvement across both services.

About you

You will be an experienced Adults Service Manager with strong knowledge of adult social care, safeguarding and DoLS. You should have excellent leadership and decision-making skills, with the ability to provide confident management oversight in a busy operational environment.

Experience of managing or overseeing safeguarding triage/hub functions and DoLS services would be highly desirable.
