SEN Case Officer (Annual Reviews)

We are recruiting multiple SEN Officers to support the delivery of
EHCP Annual Reviews for most councils across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced SEND professionals seeking a fully remote contract while making a positive impact on children and young people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
The successful candidates will manage a caseload of complex or escalated Annual Review cases, ensuring statutory responsibilities are met while working collaboratively with families, schools and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage complex and high‑profile EHCP Annual Review cases from review decision through to amended or final EHCP.
• Take ownership of challenging cases, including
- Disputes raised by parents, carers or educational settings.
- Requests for specialist, independent or out‑of‑county placements.
- Cases involving significant amendments to provision or placement.
- Prepare detailed reports and present complex recommendations to Review and Consultation Panels (RCP).
- Provide robust evidence to support funding increases, placement changes and specialist provision.
- Build effective working relationships with parents, carers, schools, SENCOs, education providers and multi‑agency professionals.
- Work proactively to resolve disputes, manage expectations and reduce escalation to mediation or SEND Tribunal where appropriate.
- Ensure all casework is completed in line with the SEND Code of Practice, relevant legislation and statutory timescales.
Essential Requirements
- Extensive experience managing
EHCP Annual Reviews within a Local Authority SEND Service.
- Strong working knowledge of the
Children and Families Act 2014 , SEND Code of Practice and statutory EHCP processes.
- Proven experience handling complex or disputed SEND cases.
- Excellent report writing, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience presenting complex cases to funding or decision‑making panels.
- Ability to manage a busy caseload independently while consistently meeting statutory deadlines.
