Residential Childcare Officer - Channel Islands Opportunity - ****FREE FLIGHTS****

Full-Time No working from home possible
Community Care Live

Join a dedicated and ambitious residential childcare service on the island of Jersey, providing high-quality care, support and safe homes for children and young people.

This opportunity relates specifically to suitable candidates to work in the two short breaks homes supporting children with complex needs. The short breaks provision plays a vital role in enabling children to enjoy meaningful social and community experiences, while also providing essential respite for families and carers.

Across all settings, we provide nurturing, structured, and safe environments where children are supported to recover from early adversity and achieve positive outcomes.

Our approach is trauma-informed and child-centred, recognising each child as an individual with unique strengths, needs and potential. Practitioners are encouraged to be creative, proactive and aspirational in their practice—helping children to broaden their experiences, build resilience and work towards fulfilling futures.

The service works closely with families, carers and a wide range of multi-agency partners including social work teams, leaving care services, education, health, CAMHS, police and probation. Practitioners play a key role in advocating for children, ensuring their voices are heard, and maintaining high expectations of all professionals involved. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children remains at the heart of everything we do.
