Salary: Soulbury Range 4-9 (starting at 5) plus 3 SPA points (pro rata for part-time colleagues).
About the Role:
- Apply psychology to improve outcomes, promote inclusion, and support emotional wellbeing for children and young people.
- Use family- and child-centred approaches, working collaboratively with parents, schools, and partners.
- Help the Council meet statutory duties for vulnerable children, including those with SEND and disabilities.
- Stay current with professional practice while managing your workload effectively.
- Contribute creatively as part of a supportive, collaborative team.
- Deliver high-quality traded services to schools, including consultation, assessment, intervention, and progress monitoring.
- Support inclusive practice through co-production and a Graduated Response to SEND.
- Offer professional advice to the SEN Team, including involvement in complex casework and tribunals.
- Provide safeguarding-compliant, child-centred support at all times.
- Deliver professional development and contribute to critical incident response for educational settings.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Essential Qualifications: Honours degree in Psychology or equivalent. A recognised qualification in Educational Psychology (or be currently in training).
- Experience & Knowledge: Experience delivering a broad range of Educational Psychology casework. Experience in delivering training, promoting inclusion, and working with vulnerable children. Strong understanding of psychological assessments, SEND legislation, and multi-agency working.
- Personal Qualities: Solution-focused thinking. Excellent communication and organisational skills. The ability to work independently and collaboratively. Motivation to support others and drive positive outcomes for all children. A commitment to inclusion and valuing diversity.
Job Requirements:
- HCPC registration (or eligibility).
- Enhanced DBS check with Child Barred List.
- Ability to travel across the area (use of public transport or full UK driving licence with vehicle access).
