Qualified Social Worker needed for a Family Safeguarding team in Peterborough - £39 per hour. Hybrid Working!

Location: Peterborough

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days office based

About the Role: This is a dynamic and rewarding role within a Family Safeguarding Service, working with children and families where there are safeguarding concerns. You will be responsible for managing a varied caseload, supporting families to create safe and sustainable home environments while ensuring children’s welfare remains the priority. The team focuses on collaborative, strengths-based practice to reduce risk and improve long-term outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload including:
    • Section 17 (Child in Need) cases
    • Section 47 (Child Protection) enquiries
    • Pre-proceedings and active care proceedings
  • Undertake statutory visits in line with departmental guidelines
  • Complete assessments, care planning, and reviews to ensure children’s safety and wellbeing
  • Work directly with children and families to promote positive and sustainable change
  • Prepare reports for court and attend legal proceedings where required
  • Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to safeguard children
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records
