About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Social Worker to join the Looked After Children (LAC) service in Luton. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children and young people in care, ensuring they receive the support, stability, and permanence they need to thrive. You will work within a supportive and dynamic team, managing a varied caseload and working closely with children, carers, families, and partner agencies to deliver high-quality, child-centred social work practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Looked After Children
- Undertake statutory visits, assessments, and care planning
- Work within care proceedings and contribute to permanence planning
- Build and maintain strong relationships with children and young people in care
- Liaise effectively with carers, schools, health professionals, and other agencies
- Ensure children's care plans are progressed without delay
- Complete accurate and timely case recording in line with statutory requirements
- Promote the voice of the child in all aspects of planning and decision-making
