An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Social Worker to join Lambeth's busy and dynamic Assessment Service. This role is suited to a confident practitioner with strong experience in assessment, safeguarding, child protection, and court work. As a lead professional, you will manage complex statutory cases from referral through assessment and intervention, making a significant difference to the lives of children and families. The role requires excellent assessment skills, sound professional judgement, and the ability to work effectively across agencies to safeguard children and promote positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a complex caseload of children and families requiring statutory intervention.
  • Undertake initial and comprehensive assessments of children in need.
  • Complete Child Protection investigations and safeguarding enquiries.
  • Develop, implement, and review care and support plans.
  • Prepare high-quality court reports, statements, and care plans.
  • Represent the Local Authority in court proceedings and legal meetings.
  • Work with children subject to Child Protection Plans, Child in Need Plans, Care Proceedings, and Looked After Children processes.
  • Coordinate and lead multi-agency planning and intervention.
  • Build effective relationships with children, families, partner agencies, and professionals.
  • Maintain accurate and timely case records in line with statutory and local requirements.
