Qualified Social Worker needed for our Family Safeguarding team in Peterborough, paying £39 per hour.

Location: Peterborough

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 2 days office based

Rate: £39 per hour

About the Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Social Worker to join the Family Safeguarding Team in Peterborough. This is a long-term safeguarding role managing complex cases and working within statutory frameworks to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children.

This position has a hybrid working model (minimum 2 office days per week to meet business needs). However, you must be available to visit children and families across the city, including attending urgent visits when required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload within a long-term safeguarding team
  • Work on cases under Section 17 (Child in Need) and Section 47 (Child Protection)
  • Manage cases within active Public Law Outline (PLO) and Care Proceedings through to final hearing
  • Undertake robust assessments and deliver targeted interventions
  • Prepare high-quality court reports and statements
  • Work in partnership with multi-agency professionals to promote positive outcomes
  • Effectively assess, manage and reduce risk to children
