Parenting Support Worker / Parenting Assessor
Location: LB Greenwich / Kent (Residential Family Assessment Centre) Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) with some flexibility to meet service needs.
About the Role
Eclesia Family Centre is seeking an experienced Parenting Support Worker / Parenting Assessor to join our specialist Residential Family Assessment Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work with families where there are safeguarding concerns and to support comprehensive parenting assessments within court-directed and pre-proceedings assessments.
The successful candidate will work alongside social workers, therapists, and other professionals to deliver high-quality, evidence-based parenting assessments and interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and families.
Essential Requirements
- Parent Assess-trained with experience completing parenting assessments.
- Experience working with vulnerable families, infants, and children.
- Excellent observation, recording, and report-writing skills.
- Good understanding of child development, attachment, safeguarding, and risk assessment.
- Ability to build professional relationships while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Knowledge of Public Law Outline (PLO), care proceedings, and court-directed assessments is desirable.
- Full UK driving licence (desirable).
Preferred Qualifications
- CUBAS-trained (preferred).
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health & Social Care, Children & Young People's Workforce, Social Work, Psychology, Early Years, or a related qualification.
- Experience working within Residential Family Centres, Mother and Baby Units, Children's Services, or Family Support Services.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake structured parenting observations.
- Complete evidence-based parenting assessments.
- Support parents to develop safe and effective parenting skills.
- Maintain accurate daily recordings and assessment documentation.
- Produce high-quality reports for Local Authorities and the Family Court.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary professionals.
- Promote safeguarding and child-centred practice at all times.
- Support families with practical parenting tasks, routines, budgeting, health, and child development.

Terms and Benefits
- Salary: £45,000-£55,000 per annum (dependent on qualifications and experience).
- Flexi hours - Can apply for part time role
- Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to meet the needs of the service. Occasional evenings, weekends and bank holidays may be required.
- Annual Leave: 28 days per year, inclusive of Bank Holidays (increasing with length of service where applicable).
- Sick Pay: Statutory Sick Pay (SSP) during probation. Company Sick Pay may be available after successful completion of probation, subject to the Company’s Sick Pay Policy.
- Pension: Automatic enrolment into the company workplace pension scheme.
- Probationary Period: 6 months.
- Notice Period: 1 month during probation and 3 months following successful completion of probation.
- DBS: Appointment is subject to an Enhanced DBS check with Children's Barred List.
- Right to Work: Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK.
- Training: Ongoing professional development, mandatory safeguarding training, and opportunities to undertake further specialist assessment training. Level5 management apprenticeship avaialble
