About the role:

We are seeking an experienced social worker to support children and young people in North Devon. This opportunity allows you to build positive relationships with children, young people, and families, working closely with them to achieve positive outcomes that are family led, built on strengths, and ensure safety and stability for families. As the Local Authority is working under an Ofsted Improvement Plan, we require experienced, robust social workers with good practice knowledge, capable of modelling best practice across the service with peers.

About our Assessment Team:

Our team includes specialist practitioners who support with specialized assessments such as Reg 24’s, VA’s, pre‑birth and parenting assessments, facilitating court processes and allowing practitioners to focus on day‑to‑day assessments and interventions with children and families. The Assessment team is responsible for carrying out Child and Family Assessments, and, when necessary, section 47 Child Protection enquiries to determine whether a child needs support, requires protection, or should be taken into care. Our Social Workers, ASYEs, and Family Practitioners are managed and supported by the team manager.
