About The Role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Principal Social Worker to join a Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH) in Cardiff.
This is a key role within a fast-paced safeguarding environment, working alongside partner agencies to ensure concerns relating to children and young people are assessed effectively and that appropriate safeguarding responses are put in place.
The successful candidate will bring strong frontline children's social work and safeguarding experience, with the confidence to make sound professional decisions in a busy MASH environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work as a senior social work practitioner within the MASH service.
- Screen and assess referrals relating to children and young people.
- Undertake timely and proportionate safeguarding assessments and make appropriate recommendations.
- Analyse information from multiple agencies to identify risks, needs and protective factors.
- Make sound professional decisions regarding thresholds and appropriate levels of intervention.
- Work collaboratively with police, health, education and other partner agencies.
- Provide professional social work advice and contribute to multi-agency decision-making.
- Ensure children and young people's voices and lived experiences remain central to decision-making.
- Identify and respond appropriately to safeguarding risks.
- Maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely case records.
- Contribute to effective information sharing and ensure statutory and organisational requirements are met.
- Support high-quality practice and contribute to a positive safeguarding culture within the service.
