QSW – Blackburn Council – LAC – £39 per hour
Blackburn with Darwen Children’s Services, graded ‘good’ by Ofsted, requires a full-time Agency Social Worker to cover its CIOC Court service, primarily carrying out all required duties in relation to children looked after subject to care proceedings.
You may be required to undertake duties for children who remain looked after following the conclusion of care proceedings, including some whose long term permanence plan is not yet in place.
Role focus is mainly care proceedings/court work.
Candidates should be aware that the role is primarily for care proceedings work, NOT long term CIOC work, though some minimal requirements around the latter may arise.
Qualifications & Competencies
- At least 3 years post‑qualification experience, preferably in longer‑term safeguarding/care proceedings and other court work.
- Registered with the Social Work England (SWE) register.
- Valid car driver’s licence.
- Previous experience with Protocol LCS system is an advantage.
- Excellent communication, team working and independent caseload management skills.
- Ability to meet local authority and court timescales.
- Working Hours & Flexibility
Both office-based and home working arrangements are available. Flexibility required, with a minimum of 3–4 days per week in the office.
