Family Court Advisor needed for our CAFCASS team in Birmingham, paying £33.50 per hour.

Location: Birmingham

Contract: Locum

Hours: Full-time

About the Role

Are you an experienced Social Worker with a passion for improving outcomes for children and families? We are recruiting for a Family Court Advisor to join CAFCASS in a rewarding hybrid role, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children involved in family court proceedings. As a Family Court Advisor, you will represent the best interests of children, providing high-quality assessments, analysis and recommendations to the Family Court. Working closely with children, families, legal professionals and partner agencies, you will ensure children's voices are heard and that decisions are made with their welfare at the center.

WTFH (Work to First Hearing)/Information and Screening Team (IAS)

This team focuses on the initial stage of private law proceedings before the first hearing. FCAs complete safeguarding checks, assess risk factors, identify welfare concerns and provide early recommendations to help the court make safe decisions for children.

Requirements

  • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration.
  • Significant post-qualification experience within Children's Social Care.
  • Experience of safeguarding, child protection and completing complex assessments.
  • Excellent report writing and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge of family court processes and relevant childcare legislation.
  • Ability to work independently while managing a busy caseload.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (where required).
