Advanced Social Worker needed for our Children's Response and Assessment team in South Glos, paying £41ph!

About the Role: The Response Team sits within the Access (Front Door) and Response Service of the Integrated Children's Service. As an Advanced Social Worker, you will play a vital role in safeguarding vulnerable children by assessing and managing risk where there is actual or suspected significant harm. You will undertake statutory assessments, child protection investigations, and work collaboratively with children, young people, families, and partner agencies to achieve the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake statutory assessments where cases meet the threshold for Children's Social Care intervention.
- Carry out child protection investigations and manage complex safeguarding concerns.
- Assess and manage risk to ensure children are protected from abuse and neglect.
- Build effective relationships with children, young people, families, and partner agencies.
- Deliver high-quality, strengths-based and child-centred social work practice.
- Make informed, evidence-based decisions in complex situations.
- Contribute to positive outcomes through effective planning, intervention, and review.
Requirements:
- A recognized Social Work qualification.
- Registration with Social Work England.
- Successful completion of the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) (for those qualifying since 2012).
- A strong understanding of strengths-based and asset-based approaches to social work.
- DfE-compliant experience, including a minimum of three years' post-qualifying experience (PQE) gained through direct employment within an English Local Authority, working in children's and families' services while registered with a UK social work regulator.
- Significant experience assessing and managing risk for vulnerable children and families.
- A detailed understanding of effective strategies that improve outcomes for children, young people, and families.
- Excellent assessment, analytical, communication, and decision-making skills.
- A collaborative, resilient, and solution-focused approach, with a genuine passion for supporting children and families to achieve their goals.
