This is a rare opportunity for a registered, experienced social care professional to shape how Dudley responds to crisis, reinforces safeguarding and builds more integrated, preventative services.
As Adult Social Care Lead for Crisis Intervention, Safeguarding and Integrated Support, you will oversee short term interventions and out of hours safeguarding, mental health and crisis response, stabilising situations and reducing risk to prevent avoidable hospital admissions. You will coordinate multidisciplinary teams, promote strengths based, person centred practice, and hold strategic responsibility for safeguarding assurance across adult social care. Reporting to the Associate Director for Adult Social Care Operations, you will also oversee transformational change, manage significant budgets, and build partnerships across health, emergency services and the wider system.
This role offers a genuine strategic seat on the Management Team, with the chance to deputise for the Associate Director and shape how Dudley redesigns crisis and safeguarding services.
Who weβre looking for:
We are looking for a qualified Social Worker or Occupational Therapist, registered with Social Work England or the HCPC, with significant senior management experience in a complex, multidisciplinary organisation. You will bring demonstrable experience of crisis intervention, safeguarding or urgent and short term care pathways, ideally including hospital avoidance, reablement, MASH or out of hours provision, together with a track record of overseeing service transformation, managing budgets and demand, and turning strategy into effective operational delivery. You will be a credible, resilient and politically astute professional, an effective communicator and influencer who can build trust across organisational boundaries and with elected members.
