Kick-start your marketing career with Impact Initiatives. We’re looking for a creative, organised and enthusiastic Marketing & Events Apprentice to join our Central Team. You’ll gain hands‑on experience across content, campaigns, events, digital marketing, fundraising and corporate engagement, while completing a Level 3 AI Digital Marketing apprenticeship.

BUILD REAL-WORLD EXPERIENCE FROM DAY ONE:

We’re looking for a creative, organised and curious Marketing & Events Apprentice to join Impact Initiatives’ Central Team. You’ll work across a varied portfolio of services and audiences, helping us tell compelling stories, build our profile and connect with communities across Sussex.

This is a hands‑on role with meaningful responsibility from the outset. Alongside your work at Impact, you’ll complete a Level 3 AI Digital Marketing apprenticeship, applying your learning directly to live campaigns, content and projects.

WHAT YOU’LL GET INVOLVED IN:

  • Supporting the planning and delivery of events, campaigns and networking activity, including occasional evening and weekend events.
  • Creating accessible marketing content and materials for digital and print channels, working within our brand and tone of voice.
  • Supporting social media, website content, SEO, paid digital activity and campaign performance reporting.
  • Helping build relationships with local businesses, corporate supporters, event participants and community partners.
  • Researching awards and profile‑raising opportunities and contributing to strong, evidence‑based submissions.

ABOUT IMPACT INITIATIVES:

Impact Initiatives has been supporting people across Sussex since 1978. We work with children and young people, adults and older people, providing the right support at the right time so people can feel safe, connected and able to move forward.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

You don’t need to arrive as a fully formed marketer - this is an apprenticeship. We’re looking for someone with the potential, motivation and core skills to develop in the role.

  • Excellent written English and the ability to communicate clearly and engagingly with different audiences.
  • A genuine interest in marketing, communications, fundraising and the work of charities or community organisations.
  • Creativity and an eye for clear, accessible and consistent design, with confidence using or learning tools such as Canva or Adobe products.
  • Strong organisation, attention to detail and confidence using digital systems, including Microsoft 365.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, use initiative and travel to services and events across Sussex, including occasional evening and weekend events.

Experience of events, campaigns, fundraising, community engagement, copywriting, design, photography/video, SEO or digital advertising would be useful, but these are desirable rather than essential.

YOUR APPRENTICESHIP:

The role includes a Level 3 AI Digital Marketing apprenticeship. You’ll complete learning activities, portfolio evidence and assessments alongside your role, and apply your learning to real projects and campaigns at Impact Initiatives.

You’ll need to be eligible and willing to undertake the apprenticeship, including the required off-the-job learning and end-point assessment. You’ll also need English and Maths qualifications at the required level, or be willing to complete Functional Skills where required.

IMPORTANT START DATE INFORMATION:

The apprenticeship course induction takes place on 22 October 2026. The successful candidate will need to be available to attend the induction, with the role able to start shortly afterwards.

WHY JOIN IMPACT?

  • A practical route into a marketing career, combining structured learning with substantial real-world experience.
  • Work across a genuinely varied mix of content, campaigns, events, fundraising and digital marketing.
  • Be part of a Sussex charity whose work supports people of all ages across local communities.
  • 27 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays and an additional 3 days at Christmas, all pro rata.
