Your mission:

We are seeking a Breakfast Producer to join our team. Reporting to the Content Controller, you will be responsible for producing the station’s flagship breakfast show, managing the production process from start to finish, and working with a team of experienced presenters to create relevant and engaging content that resonates with the station's target audience.

The role:

  • Develop and implement outstanding content ideas and story arcs for our breakfast show.
  • Provide direction to on-air talent, ensuring high-quality production values.
  • Prepare a daily briefing, informing presenters of station activity, commercial scripts, and topical information.
  • Coordinate logistics such as organising interviews, and scheduling recording sessions.
  • Edit and mix audio.
  • Ensure compliance with broadcasting regulations and standards.
  • Oversee the production of promotional materials, such as trailers.
  • Build relationships with our brand partners, clients, and internal staff.
  • Create engaging social media to support and promote on air content.
  • Collaborate with internal colleagues to develop brilliant ideas and solutions for client-led activity.

Your qualities:

  • A genuine passion for radio and audio.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Someone who can build and maintain a strong connection with people.
  • Highly organised with great attention to detail.

Your experience:

  • Essential knowledge of Ofcom broadcast codes and standards.
  • At least one year of experience producing breakfast radio with a proven track record of producing successful radio programmes.
  • An understanding of the Capital brand and the music we play.
  • Excellent editing skills on Adobe Audition, knowledge of RCS Zetta playout.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • A team player but a solid ability to work independently.
  • A passion for radio and a deep understanding of its role in the Scotland market.
