Help shape the UK’s energy future with the Civil Works Alliance (CWA), supporting Sizewell C. As part of the CWA, you will support the building of Sizewell C, a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes and playing a key role in our energy future.

This role will be within the Main Civil Works Section.

The Civil Works Alliance (CWA) is recruiting a Methods Engineer to play a key role in shaping how one of the UK’s most significant infrastructure projects is delivered. This is an opportunity to join a growing technical team and influence construction methodology on a nationally important, complex energy project.

The ideal Methods Engineer candidate will:

  • Support the development of optimised construction solutions from pre-construction through to early delivery stages
  • Work collaboratively with site teams, designers and the wider methods engineering team to develop safe, efficient and buildable methodologies
  • Contribute to method-led construction sequencing, logistics strategies and temporary works concepts
  • Apply engineering judgement to integrate temporary and permanent works design
  • Use digital tools, BIM and modern methods of construction to improve productivity and outcomes
  • Support cost, programme and carbon assessments linked to construction methodologies
  • Identify construction risks and help develop practical mitigation strategies
  • Capture lessons learnt and support the continuous improvement of methods engineering capability across the CWA

What are we looking for?

  • Experience working on complex or major infrastructure projects, ideally at Site Engineer or Section Engineer level (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, temporary works and logistics planning
  • Knowledge of project planning, resourcing and safe systems of work, including CDM Regulations
  • Confidence working within digital models and using modern construction tools and techniques
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple disciplines and manage competing priorities
  • Clear communication skills with the confidence to challenge conventional approaches constructively
  • A technically focused engineer keen to develop specialist expertise within a high-performing alliance environment
