We’re hiring a Business Development Manager to work in our portfolio of Pharmacy, Healthcare, Beauty and professional media brands including Pharmacy Magazine, Training Matters, P3 Pharmacy, Independent Community Pharmacist, Counter Intelligence Plus, Beauty Magazine, and our events, awards and partnership platforms.
This isn’t just about selling pages in a magazine or advertising online. It’s about helping brands reach the people who matter: pharmacists, pharmacy teams, healthcare professionals, pharmacy owners, buyers, suppliers, manufacturers and decision-makers across one of the most important healthcare markets in the UK.
The role
You’ll sell across print, digital, content partnerships, newsletters, events, awards sponsorship, data-led campaigns and cross-title commercial packages. You’ll build relationships with OTC manufacturers, pharma companies, beauty and wellness brands, wholesalers, technology providers, training partners, professional services firms and healthcare suppliers who all need to reach CIG’s audiences. You won’t be limited to one product, one audience or one route to market. You’ll have the full CIG ecosystem to work with.
Why this isn’t a normal sales job
Our audiences don’t just glance at our content; they use it. They use it to train teams, understand products, follow industry change, enter awards, attend events, build businesses and make better commercial decisions. CIG sits at the heart of pharmacy, healthcare and beauty communications. We connect brands with the people who influence what gets stocked, recommended, prescribed, purchased and trusted. That’s what you’ll be selling. Not just space. Not just impressions but Influence.
What you’ll get
- A broad portfolio of established, respected media brands
- The chance to sell across magazines, digital, training, events, awards and partnerships
- Real autonomy to build your patch and shape your own pipeline
- Direct access to senior decision-makers across healthcare, pharmacy, beauty and FMCG
- A business with deep sector knowledge, strong editorial authority and genuine commercial ambition
- Support from experienced colleagues who understand both media and the markets we serve
What we need
Someone who picks up the phone, opens doors, walks into meetings with a point of view and doesn’t wait to be told what to sell. You’ll need to be commercially sharp, curious, resilient and confident enough to challenge clients with ideas that help them sell more, communicate better and reach the right people. Experience in healthcare, pharma, beauty, wellness, media or B2B sales would be valuable. But we’d also like to meet a brilliant seller from another sector who learns fast.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven track record in sales and target achievement.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team.
- Familiarity with production processes and advertising best practices.
- Demonstrate a structured approach to sales maintaining and growing sales strategy and tactics.
- Good digital awareness.
Benefits:
- Up to £50k salary and uncapped commission
- Opportunity to make a significant impact in a growing company
- Be part of a team dedicated to excellence in healthcare and events communications and beyond
