Global Sustainable Mobility & Technology Group – VAT Manager
Join a fast-growing, technology-led group and take a hands-on advisory role in its in-house Indirect Tax function, supporting UK and EU VAT across the business. This is a great opportunity to help shape VAT strategy at a time when tax requirements are becoming more complex with developments such as VIDA and real-time reporting.
You’ll work at the heart of the business, partnering with Finance, Operations and Commercial teams to give practical, timely VAT advice on new business offerings, cross-border transactions and complex VAT matters. This is a role with real scope to strengthen controls, improve processes and systems, and build a more robust VAT framework across the Group.
Key responsibilities
- Act as a key point of contact for VAT queries across operational and finance teams
- Support business projects and transactional workflows to ensure the correct VAT treatment
- Review, strengthen and maintain VAT controls, processes and documentation
- Help identify and drive improvements to VAT processes and finance systems
- Deliver VAT training to non-tax teams such as Accounts Payable, Sales and Finance Operations
- Support the Head of Indirect Tax with HMRC enquiries and audit queries, and assist with the review of VAT returns
Requirements
- ACCA, ACA, ATT or HMRC VAT-trained equivalent
- Comfortable explaining VAT matters clearly to non-specialist colleagues
- Some experience of finance systems or process improvement projects
