Senior Financial Accountant - 9 Month Contract

A FTSE-listed group is looking for a Senior Financial Accountant to join on an initial nine-month contract. The business is highly acquisitive and in the middle of an ERP implementation, so this is a role with real exposure to change rather than a pure BAU seat. You will work closely with the Group Financial Controller and the M&A team, manage two direct reports, and act as a key point of contact for finance teams across the international business.

The role

  • Own elements of the group month-end and consolidation under IFRS, including review of submissions from international entities
  • Lead the accounting for the group’s derivative portfolio (FX forwards and interest rate swaps), including valuations, hedge documentation and IFRS 9 hedge accounting
  • Support the M&A team on acquisitions, covering due diligence input, opening balance sheets, purchase price allocations and integration of new entities into group reporting
  • Act as finance lead on workstreams within the ERP migration, including chart of accounts mapping, data migration, testing and process redesign
  • Contribute to half-year and year-end reporting, preparing technical papers and supporting the external audit
  • Manage, review and develop two qualified/part-qualified accountants
  • Deliver ad hoc projects for the Group Financial Controller and CFO

About you

  • ACA (or equivalent) qualified, ideally with a Big 4 or top-tier audit background
  • Strong IFRS knowledge, with hands-on experience of derivatives and hedge accounting
  • Group consolidation experience within a listed or multinational environment
  • Exposure to acquisitions and/or ERP implementations
  • Experience managing a small team and working with overseas finance functions
  • Available immediately or on short notice
