A leading global insurance brokerage is seeking an experienced Head of Claims to lead its claims function across Warranty & Indemnity and the wider transactional risks portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Warranty & Indemnity claims function, setting its strategy, service standards and operating model.
  • Manage complex and high-value claims involving breach of warranty, tax, contingent risk and other transactional insurance products.
  • Provide clear, commercially focused advice to clients on policy coverage, claims strategy and potential outcomes.
  • Act as the principal claims advocate in discussions with insurers, underwriters, legal advisers, forensic accountants and other specialists.
  • Support clients in preparing notifications, substantiating loss and presenting claims effectively.
  • Oversee claims negotiations and help drive timely, commercially appropriate resolutions.
  • Build strong relationships with private equity sponsors, corporate clients, law firms, insurers and other market participants.
  • Work closely with broking teams during policy placement to ensure claims experience informs policy structure, wording and negotiation.
  • Identify emerging claims trends and provide insight to clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Recruit, develop and lead a high-performing team as the claims function continues to grow.
  • Represent the business at client meetings, industry events and market forums.
  • Contribute to business development, client retention and the continued growth of the transactional risks practice.

You will ideally bring

  • In-depth knowledge of Warranty & Indemnity insurance and the M&A transaction process.
  • Experience handling complex, high-value insurance claims, coverage disputes or commercial litigation.
  • Strong understanding of policy wordings, breach analysis, loss quantification and claims negotiation.
  • The credibility to advise senior stakeholders within private equity firms, corporates, law firms and insurers.
  • Excellent commercial judgement, with the ability to balance legal, technical and relationship considerations.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Experience leading teams, developing talent and establishing effective claims processes.
  • A collaborative approach and the ability to work effectively across broking, legal and technical functions.
