A leading London-based real estate and development business is seeking a Financial Accountant to join its expanding finance team. With a growing portfolio spanning residential, mixed-use, and commercial assets, the business has established a strong reputation for delivering high-quality developments across the UK market. The position offers exposure across asset management, acquisitions, development projects, and corporate reporting, working closely with senior finance leadership and operational stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting strategic decision-making, and helping drive continuous improvement across the finance function.
The Role
Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will take ownership of core reporting activities while also supporting wider commercial and operational finance initiatives. The role offers a balance of technical accounting responsibilities alongside meaningful business partnering exposure, making it well suited to an individual who enjoys working beyond traditional reporting lines. You will work closely with asset managers, development teams, and external advisors, gaining insight into the full lifecycle of real estate assets and investment structures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly and quarterly management accounts across multiple entities and SPVs
- Lead month-end close activities, including journals, accruals, prepayments, and reconciliations
- Ensure integrity of the general ledger and maintain strong financial controls
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts under UK GAAP / IFRS
- Assist with year-end audit processes and coordinate with external auditors
- Review and analyse financial performance across property portfolios and development projects
