We are looking for a skilled Fibre Splicer to join our field team and play a key part in delivering reliable, high-performance fibre networks. You will be responsible for splicing and testing on both existing and new-build networks, working to detailed customer specifications across external and internal environments. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in the quality of their work, enjoys problem-solving on live infrastructure, and wants to be part of building the connectivity that powers homes and businesses. Key Responsibilities

  • Splicing Fusion splicing using Fujikura or similar equipment
  • Live network splicing with care taken to maintain service integrity
  • New-build, internal and external work, including building new splice points using a range of fibre enclosures and Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs)
  • Splicing OBFs, trays and BFPs
  • Confidently splicing from 2-fibre up to 288-fibre cables

Fibre Optic Testing

  • Carrying out OTDR and ILM testing
  • Producing clear, accurate fibre test results
  • Analysing trace results to pinpoint faults and identify root causes

Reporting & Documentation

  • Reading and interpreting straight-line diagrams
  • Following written work instructions in Microsoft Word and Excel

Knowledge / Skills / Background / Qualifications

  • A minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience working with fibre optic products
  • Solid OTDR experience
  • Proven fusion splicing capability
  • At least 2 years’ experience working on live networks

Skills & Qualifications

  • Background in telecommunications or network installation
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as fibre optics, telecoms, NRSWA, SA001/SA002, PIA, confined space, and working at height
  • Experience working on FTTP/FTTH broadband networks
