Permanent, full‑time position at Merton College, London, England, United Kingdom. Deliver outstanding quality teaching, learning, assessment, and tutorial support to undergraduate and postgraduate students. You will play a key role in developing curriculum, engaging employers, and supporting learner skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Act as Course Leader and Academic Tutor, delivering lectures, coursework, practical, and fieldwork sessions.
  • Design and implement innovative teaching and assessment strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with validation body deadlines and provide evidence of assessment for moderation.
  • Support tutoring and learner development, maintaining good student progress tracking.
  • Teach on Electrical Installation courses such as C&G 7202‑01, 2365‑02, 2365‑03, 8202‑30, EAL Electrotechnical and T‑levels, and deliver knowledge of Green Skills technologies (Solar/PV, EV Chargers, Air Source Heat Pumps, Retrofit).
  • Provide Electrical Inspection & Testing 2391/51 and 2391/52 training and BS7671:2018 (18th Edition) instruction.
  • Work a minimum of two evenings per week teaching part‑time adult courses.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Teaching qualification (or in progress) and Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • Recent teaching experience in Electrical Installation at a further‑education college, school, or private provider.
  • Experience teaching courses including C&G 7202‑01, 2365‑02, 2365‑03, 8202‑30, EAL Electrotechnical, T‑levels, and working knowledge of Green Skills technologies.
  • Relevant Level 3 assessor qualification (e.g., TAQA) and registration with JIB as Approved Electrician or Eng‑Tech status via IET.
  • Proven experience working in the electrical industry, installing systems and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

Salary and Benefits

The salary will include a £10,000 uplift if the post holder holds a qualified teacher with a relevant Level 3 NVQ Electrotechnical qualification, JIB Approved Electrician registration or Eng‑Tech status via IET, and a recognised Level 3 assessor qualification. The benefits package includes generous annual leave (40 days plus up to 8 additional days over the Christmas/New Year period, plus 5 additional days Wellbeing leave), a pension scheme with significant employer contribution, subsidised sports facilities, professional development and training opportunities, and a salary‑sacrifice cycle to work scheme.
