SSP Group plc, a FTSE 250 global leader in the food travel sector, is seeking an experienced Senior Corporate & Financial Communications Manager to oversee the Group’s corporate narrative, market positioning, and reputation, reporting to the Global Communications Director.
This is a comprehensive communications role covering both external and internal audiences. You will be responsible for how SSP communicates its performance and growth to investors, media, and industry stakeholders, while ensuring these messages resonate with colleagues via platforms like LinkedIn and Viva Engage.
The ideal candidate will be an expert writer with the versatility to adapt complex financial data into compelling narratives for both the City and the shop floor. You will have a background in a FTSE-listed environment, ideally a FTSE 250, where you have successfully managed international communications and provided high-level counsel to senior executives.
This role is designed for a practitioner who enjoys "comms in the round" — someone who can switch seamlessly between managing reputation risk and building a global thought leadership platform that defines an entire industry category. Core Responsibilities- Corporate Narrative: Maintain a consistent strategy and growth narrative across all global markets.
- Financial Communications: Develop the narrative for quarterly results and trading updates, providing the necessary trend-led context for analysts and investors.
- Thought Leadership: Create and deliver a bi-annual thought leadership platform to establish SSP’s expertise in the food travel category.
- Reputation Management: Implement proactive systems to identify and mitigate reputational, regulatory, and commercial risks.
- Commercial Storytelling: Lead a global approach to communicating new business wins, partnerships, and technical innovations.
- Leadership Counsel: Act as a functional advisor to the Executive team and senior stakeholders to ensure messaging clarity and consistency.
- Listed Company Background: Significant experience within a FTSE-listed environment, ideally a FTSE 250 business.
- International Scope: A track record of managing communications across multiple regions and diverse markets.
- Financial Literacy: The ability to interpret financial performance and translate it into clear, differentiated narratives.
- Technical Writing Skills: Exceptional writing ability, with the skill to adapt tone for different channels—from formal regulatory news to engaging internal updates.
