The D.E. Shaw group seeks a talented individual to join its Communications group as an associate on its Internal Communications team. This team is responsible for developing and executing internal communications strategies that improve knowledge sharing and connectivity across one of the world's leading investment and technology development firms. The role offers the chance to contribute to a wide range of strategic projects, and gain insight into the firm's businesses and operations, with significant opportunities for professional growth in a collegial work environment.
WHAT YOU'LL DO DAY-TO-DAY
- Develop internal communications strategies and programs designed to support the firm's goals.
- Work closely with colleagues across the firm, including the firm's leadership, to draft key business updates and strategic initiatives.
- Help edit and improve communications—from firmwide announcements and blog posts to live events and videos—clearly relaying complex information to various audiences with precision and rigor.
- Support process management and creative brainstorming, from idea generation through execution.
WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR
- Bachelor's degree and a demonstrated record of academic and professional achievement, with two to five years of communications, professional writing, and/or editorial experience.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information effectively to a range of audiences.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, an orientation towards collaboration, the ability to manage multiple projects, and keen attention to detail.
- Intellectual curiosity, collaborative instincts, and a proactive approach to sourcing and executing new ideas.
- Previous experience in finance or tech is a plus but not required.
