Role Description The Finance Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Chelmsford, responsible for overseeing day-to-day financial operations and supporting strategic decision-making. The role includes managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow, as well as monitoring profitability and cost control across the business. The Finance Manager will prepare monthly and annual accounts, ensure timely reconciliations, and maintain compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This position will also involve collaborating with department heads on financial planning, providing analysis on key performance indicators, and supporting senior leadership with financial insights. Additional responsibilities include supervising finance team members, improving financial processes and systems, and liaising with external auditors and other financial partners.
Qualifications
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow oversight.
- Proficiency in accounting principles, financial reporting, and preparation of management accounts.
- Experience with financial analysis, KPI tracking, and providing data-driven recommendations.
- Working knowledge of Sage200, processing systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to manage and develop a finance team, with effective leadership and delegation skills.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Clear and confident communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or equivalent experience in a finance leadership role.
