Salary: £28,971, per annum
Hours: Average 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

At the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC), we care for war graves, cemeteries and memorials at more than 23,000 locations across the world.
Every day, our teams ensure the stories of those who died in service are remembered and honoured. This is work that matters, and we're looking for skilled, practical people to join us.
About the role
As a Skilled Maintenance Craftsperson, you'll play a key role in preserving some of the world's most important commemorative sites. From headstone installation and repairs to memorial maintenance, alignment work and inspections, you'll help ensure our sites remain safe, dignified and maintained to the highest standards. The role includes hands-on maintenance such as headstone installation, alignment, cleaning, repairs and inspections.
No two days are the same. One day you could be restoring memorials in a rural churchyard, and the next you could be working as part of a team delivering larger projects across the region.
What we're looking for
We're interested in hearing from people with practical skills and experience in areas such as:
- Construction or general building maintenance
- Stone masonry or memorial work
- Grounds or estate maintenance
- Facilities or property maintenance
- Civil engineering or similar trades
- Any role involving practical repair, installation or restoration work
You'll be someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, enjoys working outdoors, can work safely and independently, and is happy travelling to different locations as part of the role.
