Location: Maidenhead (UK), however we will also consider candidates who live in Heliopolis (Egypt), Nairobi (Kenya), or Delhi (India) and allow you to work from that location.
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: Starting at £50,000 for UK applicants, depending on experience. Salary will differ for locations outside of the UK.
Hours: This is a full‑time role, with hours aligned to the working patterns of the relevant country.
What you'll be doing
In this role, you will lead Health & Safety activity across the Africa and Asia Area (AAA), ensuring compliance with CWGC standards and local legislation. You'll oversee monitoring and inspection plans, analyse performance data, and drive continuous improvement through the AAA H&S Action Plan. A key part of the role includes strengthening incident and near‑miss reporting, conducting investigations, and addressing root causes. You will deliver regional H&S training, coordinate meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and support a proactive safety culture. Acting as the main contact for external H&S and Occupational Health partners, you will manage hazardous substances, maintain the AAA Asbestos Register, carry out audits, and present performance reports at senior meetings.
What you need to have
- NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) with practical H&S experience; TechIOSH (or working towards) preferred
- Strong knowledge of UK and international H&S legislation, regulations and best‑practice guidance
- Experience implementing H&S management systems, auditing, and leading incident investigations
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels, including remotely
- Highly organised with strong administrative skills, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information
- Proactive, adaptable, and able to work independently as well as collaboratively
