Overview
You\βll handle a variety of horticultural tasks, including mowing, hedge cutting, weeding, pruning, and pesticide application. Planning and organising daily tasks to meet the specific needs of each site will be key, along with managing stock for plants, tools, and safety equipment. In addition to maintenance, you\βll oversee the safe operation and care of machinery and vehicles, carry out routine administrative duties, and help visitors find graves or memorials. You\βll also ensure health and safety standards are followed, helping to create safe, calm, and respectful environments.
The Commonwealth War Graves Commission is an organisation dedicated to honouring and caring for the graves and memorials of servicemembers who died in the two World Wars. The work of the commission is not only out on the field, but also in our head office, which contributes to the meaningful commemoration of those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Qualifications
- RHS level 2 in Horticulture (or equivalent) OR practical experience within horticulture, such as plant identification, sustainable garden practices, and garden maintenance.
- Experience with garden machinery
- Full UK driver\βs license (Manual)
- IT literate
