Job Description
Old Dominion University seeks applicants for part‑time adjunct instructional faculty to teach online and on‑campus courses in the Political Science, Geography, and International Studies programs. The position is focused on General Education courses. Opportunities may remain open as they arise. Selected candidates will be hired into an adjunct pool to cover courses as needed. The most pressing need is for instructors who can teach POLS 100S Intro. International Politics, 101S Intro. American Politics, 102S Intro. Comparative Government and Politics, GEOG 100S Human Geography, 101S Environmental Geography, and 102T Digital Earth. Applicants who can also teach these courses face‑to‑face on campus are welcome.
Qualifications
- Political Science: experience teaching American or international politics and ability to connect theory to current civic engagement.
- Geography: instructors who can bridge the gap between substantive human or environmental geography and geospatial technology.
- Both: proficiency in asynchronous and web‑based instruction, student interaction, and high student evaluations.
