The Norfolk Health Department is seeking a PH Physician Supervisor to serve as the Clinic Director and chief clinician for the health district, providing clinical, operational, and administrative leadership for public health clinical services.
Responsibilities include:
- Supervision of physicians and other licensed healthcare professionals
- Oversight of clinic operations
- Quality management
- Workforce development
- Regulatory compliance
- Strategic planning
- Providing direct patient care
- Serving as the district's clinical authority to ensure delivery of safe, effective, equitable, and patient-centred public health services

Minimum Qualifications:
- Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of public health and clinical preventive medicine
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
- Skilled in the use of automation for data collection and analysis, presentations, and teaching
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
- Knowledge of Communicable Disease Investigation and surveillance activities
- Experience in managing medical professionals and programs, preferably in public health
Additional Considerations:
- Board certification/eligibility in preventive medicine or equivalent combination of training and experience
- Ability to represent the District Health Director in community events and partner engagements
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to oversee multiple departments, including office management, HR, and finance
- Excellent communicator
