About us Market Operations is a Global team of 400+ Operations Professionals who support our Global Markets, Commodities, Structured Trade & Treasury businesses globally. Functions performed are trade confirmation / affirmation, settlement, reconciliation, and client data capture/maintenance, corporate actions (the front to back trade lifecycle) across FX, Fixed Income, Rates, Commodities, Carbon, Structured Trade, Derivatives and Loans.

CommBank’s GMO business is looking for two Associates to join our FX Operations function which supports the timely and accurate settlement and reconciliations of FX, Money Market, Fixed Income and OTC Derivatives products across CBA’s global network of clients, primarily using the source systems Wallstreet. The Global FX Operations role provides real-time operational support to the Foreign Exchange and Money Market trading desks across Sydney, London and New York. Some of the tasks performed by the team are but not limited to trade confirmation and settlement. The group is in a unique position to work day-to-day with numerous stakeholders across business and operations, giving a complete overview of the trade life‑cycle management. This is a newly created team in London of +3 FTE that supports the Global Markets Business clients, primarily using the source systems Wallstreet.

Do work that matters

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinate confirmation and settlement of interbank, corporate FX and Money Market transactions using Wallstreet and SWIFT Alliance.
  • Manage confirmation matching, investigate exceptions, and elevate issues where required.
  • Calculate and settle internal and external funding requirements.
  • Process manual SWIFT messages and fee calculations, including associated journals.
  • Engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders to resolve settlement issues.
  • Identify, report, and mitigate operational and processing risks.
  • Support system testing and process or workflow changes.
  • Build and maintain strong knowledge of FX processes and controls.
  • Adhere to the Code of Conduct and all applicable policies and frameworks.

We are interested in hearing from you if you have:

  • At least 1-3 years in FX Settlements (Settlements, Confirmation Matching and FX Funding or any other related product settlements in an investment banking environment).
  • Knowledge of Wallstreet (system) is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related discipline.
  • Strong attention to detail with proven problem‑solving capability and a proactive risk mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, meet tight deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Relevant financial markets operations experience, with demonstrated resilience, accountability, and alignment to organisational values.
