CommonAI CIC is a non‑profit membership organisation, founded on a belief in collaborative engineering for the safe and responsible development of foundational AI technologies. A place where AI startups, enterprises large and small, public sector bodies and academia can share resources and knowledge, to codevelop and grow businesses, fast.

As an intern in our engineering team you will contribute to the foundational technologies we are developing in collaboration with our members. Open development is at the heart of what we do and we also encourage our engineers to play an active role in open source communities.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent programming abilities with experience in relevant languages (Python, Rust, C++ and/or Go).
  • A record of strong academic achievement.
  • Experience with relevant libraries/tools (PyTorch, Tensorflow, Neo4j), cloud infrastructure (GCP, AWS, Terraform) and/or AI accelerators (GPU, TPU) is a plus.
  • A basic understanding of open source development processes (e.g. GitHub pull requests).
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Desire to work in a rapidly evolving startup environment where you will have a high impact.

To be eligible for this position you must be currently pursuing an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field. This is a paid internship.
