Common Thread have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to join us at our Service near Abington. Common Thread provides Residential Child Care and Education across Scotland, our homes are modelled on nurturing, supportive and small family environments. We are committed to providing safe and supportive homes where children and young people, their needs and interests are at the heart of what we do.

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced worker in Residential Child Care to support the House Manager to lead on the day-to-day operations of one of our residential homes. This is a key leadership role, responsible for creating a stable, safe and caring environment for the young people in our care, while supporting and developing a team of Therapeutic Support workers. We offer shift patterns which promote healthy psychological and physical recovery. Our model for full time workers being 48 hour shift, three days off, 48 hours shift and four days off. Working 10 days out of 28 day rota.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential care or relevant field
  • Relevant professional qualifications: HNC Social Care & SVQ level 3 Social Services (Children and Young People), or equivalent, is essential.
  • SVQ level 4 Social Services (Children and Young People), or equivalent, is desirable.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
  • A trauma-informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
  • Ability to work flexibly participating in sleep over shifts and on call which will involve weekend working.
  • Full UK driving license

Salary: £40,123.00 - £41,330.00 per year

Common Thread have 14 Residential Child Care homes across Scotland. The successful candidate will be joining an existing management team and an organisation who believe in supporting their staff.
