Are you passionate about making a real difference to the lives of vulnerable young people? Common Thread are looking for an experienced Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to join our team at our service near Lockerbie. Our small Residential Child Care homes create caring and supportive family-style environments for young people who have had challenging life experiences. By placing the needs and interests of our young people at the heart of everything we do, our therapeutic homes support our young people to heal and grow.
This is a fantastic leadership opportunity to demonstrate the high standards that we require to achieve the best possible outcomes for our young people. Working together with the House Manager, you will help to establish a dedicated and supportive team who are passionate about putting the needs of our young people first and acting with integrity and honesty. You will be able to use your knowledge and experience to help coach and develop members of the team. This is a key leadership role, responsible for creating a stable, safe and caring environment for the young people in our care.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience within residential care or relevant field
- Relevant professional qualifications HNC Social Care, SVQ 3 Social Services (Children and Young People) is essential. SVQ 4 Social Services (Children and Young People) is desirable.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection
- A trauma-informed approach and understanding of complex behavioural needs
- Ability to work flexibly participating in sleep over shifts and on call which will involve weekend working.
- Full UK driving license
£37,211.20 to £39,208 per year (this includes sleep over allowance)
