The Import Coordinator is responsible for booking transport of containers when necessary, carrying out a broad range of logistics related administrative duties in order to clear incoming and occasionally outgoing containers as efficiently as possible.
General Tasks
- Customer Service – Internal / External phone calls
- IT – Excel spreadsheets, Inhouse Operational Cargo wise System
Operational Tasks
- Pre-Alerts – Manage Inbound shipments via Sea Freight and occasional Airfreight
- Occasionally organise Export shipments via Sea Freight
- Opening New Jobs on internal system for Import / Export
- Customs Entries
- Customs Documentation (Certificate Of Inspection (Organic), CHEDD, Phytosanitary Certificates, Certificate of Origin)
- Sending Port Health Documentation
- Liaising with Customers via email or telephone
- Monitor progress of shipments from start to finish
- Arrangement of deliveries with hauliers into our store
- Ensure Customer delivery requirements are met including Bonded cargo
- Job Costings / Invoicing
- System Updates
- Analysis Reporting
- Signing off Files
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
- Ability to use Microsoft Outlook, Excel & Word
- Must have background knowledge of Shipping
- Ability to work under occasional pressure and always to a time scale
- Able to work with other employees at all levels in a fast-paced and sometimes noisy environment, work both independently and under instruction
- Have a positive outlook
