Overview
Commodities People is a business events company specialising in the fascinating world of commodities (yes, you’ve guessed it!) and energy trading – particularly looking at how global trends such as sustainability, digitalisation and geopolitics are shaping the markets.
We are fast growing and global, but small enough for the right person to not just be a ‘cog in the machine’ and to be able to quickly make an impact.
We gather around 35,000 professionals from across the globe each year to our in-person and online events. We also run industry content hubs, ongoing webinars and create content and whitepapers to provide year-round engagement with our community.
During the last 3 years we have experienced significant success and growth – doubling the size of the company every year and adding events in the United States and Singapore.
We have a friendly, experienced, international team working remotely across Europe, America and Asia, and flexibly from our shared offices in London and Houston.
The Role
We’re looking for an Operations Assistant to join the company, primarily supporting the Operations Director, whilst also lending support to Sales & Marketing and general company wide assistance.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Data entry & data management
- Staff travel & accommodation booking
- Operational support on event platforms
- Operational assistance & support with event planning
- Event support at UK live- events
- Event support for online events
- Customer service inbox management
- Producing event & sales reports
Required skills:
- High level of proficiency with excel / google sheets
- Comfortable working with data
- Tech savvy / comfortable with learning new platforms
- Highly organised and detail-oriented with the ability to adapt to different tasks and projects
- Educated to degree level or equivalent experience
- Customer service experience
- Strong team working abilities
- Good organisation skills
- Whilst this a remote role, you must be available to travel to London when required and to events where required
Nice to have:
- Experience in Monday.com or other Project Management systems
- Event experience
This is a remote first role – so self-management and having a clear motivator to succeed is crucial.
